VETERINARY HOMEOPATHY is adapted from the science developed by Samuel Hahnemann and applied to humans, since about
1790. It was very holistic in application from the outset. This long tradition, which was reportedly first used in animals
around 1810, has allowed massive development of techniques and methodology, into the very powerful therapeutic capability
we see today.
Homeopathy uses, for the cure of a given set of signs and symptoms, substances which
are capable of eliciting similar signs and symptoms in a healthy individual. Homeopathic remedies are usually extremely dilute,
as a result of the 'potentisation' process. a homeopathic vet employs a similar approach to a case as that used in
human homeopathy.
Homeopathy is a form of holistic therapy, taking account of environment, diet and lifestyle,
when treating a patient.
Veterinary Homeopathy is suitable for use in all species, young or old, pregnant
or lactating.
Dogs, cats, horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, cattle, pigs, sheep and poultry are commonly treated.
Cage pets, birds and wild species, so frequently difficult to treat with conventional medicine, also respond well.
At the
AVMC, holistic vet and homeopathic vet Chris Day has a specialist homeopathic
qualification.
